Career Services

Drop-ins, Room 12-170

Drop-ins will end for the spring semester on Friday, May 11th. 

For quick career planning or job search questions, including resume, cover letter and CV review
Monday-Friday,12:00-3:00pm
Fall and Spring terms, check the homepage for updated information.
Drop-ins are best used for quick questions, approximately 15-20 minutes in length. Last drop-in taken at 2:40pm.

Career Services Appointments

For career counseling and mock interviews, there are three ways to book in person, Skype or telephone appointments:

  • Book online by logging into your CareerBridge account, Login and find the link "Make an appointment" on the left side of the welcome page.
  • Book in person at the reception desk in 12-170.
  • Book by phone at 617-253-4733.

Alumni Career Services

Our alumni career services vary by time of graduation and availability.  We provide MIT alumni with initial guidance and encourage further career self-management through support from the alumni association and/or external career counselors. Prehealth Advising

Appointments, Room 12-185

To schedule an in-person, phone or skype prehealth advising appointment please call 617-715-5328. 

Appointments are generally 30 - 60 minutes in length and can be used for general prehealth needs, essay critiques, or practice interviews. Please call in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you are 15 minutes late for an appointment, you will need to reschedule for another time.

Prehealth Essay Critiques

The following are ways you can have your medical/health profession school application essay critiqued:

  • Option #1: Appointments
    Please call 617-715-5328 to make an in-person, phone, or skype appointment. Front desk staff will assist you with making an appointment. Please send your essay 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to your assigned counselor.
  • Option #2: Email Critiques
    Please send a Word (no PDFs) document copy of your essay to prehealthessaycrits@mit.edu.  Critiqued essays are typically returned via email within 3-4 days of the request.
