Services and Policies for Postdocs
MIT Career Services for Postdoctoral Scholars
In collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research, our mission in working with current MIT Postdoctoral Scholars (Postdoctoral Fellows and Associates) is to provide initial guidance and encourage self-management of career exploration including job search strategies for both industry and academic tracks. GECD Career Services provides MIT Postdocs with access to several services.
Career Appointments
Postdocs are now able to take advantage of the same services offered to current MIT students. Please schedule an appointment for access to basic career services including appointments for CV/Resume review, interviewing strategies, and other career related topics such as career exploration, job search strategies, and considering job offers. Please note that Postdocs are not eligible for Drop-In services.
To make an appointment:
- Log in to CareerBridge
- Find the link "Make an Appointment" on the left side of the page,
- Select “Postdoc Appointments”
CareerBridge Log-in and Registration Information
Current postdocs are uploaded into MIT Career Services CareerBridge portal which gives access to jobs and opportunities and also allows scheduling of a career counseling appointment. Please use your MIT email as your user name and select “Forget Your Password” to login on your initial visit. If you are not able to login to CareerBridge, please visit the registration page, and submit your information. We will upload you once we have confirmed your status as a postdoctoral scholar.
Access to Jobs Listings and On Campus Recruiting
CareerBridge, GECD's career management system, provides a searchable database of positions posted by hundreds of employers looking to hire MIT's students, recent alumni, and postdocs. To view positions and participate in on campus recruiting, login to CareerBridge as instructed above.
Workshops and Events
Select workshops and events hosted by GECD Career Services are open to all postdocs. Postdocs are encouraged to explore the various resources on this website. In addition, please review Resources and Tools and Online Workshops for a comprehensive list of programming.
Other Career Resources
The Office of the Vice President for Research, the MIT Postdoctoral Association, and GECD Career Services collaborate to offer professional development workshops and resources for Postdocs.
